Many people don’t realize it, but June is National Safety Month. The National Safety Council created National Safety Month in an attempt to eliminate or at least reduce preventable deaths in homes, at workplaces, and in communities. The council also designated this month as something special to reduce the number of deaths that occur on the nation’s roadways.

With that in mind, we invite you to visit our Wilkes-Barre, PA Honda dealership before National Safety Month comes to an end. When you do, we’ll introduce you to the advanced safety features that are on many new Honda cars. As you learn about these features, you’ll quickly realize that getting a new Honda vehicle is one way you can celebrate National Safety Month.

We’re extremely proud to tell you that today’s Honda vehicles are equipped with an array of advanced safety features that, together, are referred to as Honda Sensing. This suite includes equipment that can keep you, your passengers, and everyone who shares the road with you safe even when you miss something while you’re in the driver’s seat.

Here are some of the features you’ll discover in the Honda Sensing package:

  • Collision Mitigation System: This system will automatically apply your brakes when a frontal collision is unavoidable and you fail to react.
  • Road Departure Mitigation System: If you cross a detected lane divider without signaling, this system will adjust your steering and apply the brakes if necessary.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control: Vehicles like the 2019 Honda Accord are equipped with adaptive cruise control. This feature will automatically adjust the speed at which you’re traveling to maintain a certain distance between your vehicle and the cars ahead of you.
